Johannesburg – The Southern African Institute of Government Auditors (SAIGA) Council has new faces.

This is after four new council members were elected at the recent SAIGA Annual General Meeting (AGM).

 The newly elected council members are Tebogo Nkhatho, Deane Mojalefa, Matshidiso Wesi and Vatiswa Matanda.

 Nkhatho is a Stakeholder Liaison Manager at AGSA, Mojalefa is a Senior Manager at AGSA while Wesi is a Senior Manager at AGSA. 

Matanda, who returns for a second term, is a Senior Manager at AGSA Eastern Cape.

The four will join Tshepo Shabangu a Senior Audit Manager at AGSA, Mavuso Shabalala, Ebrahim Mohammed and Phillip Rakgwale, the Institute’s current president, on the council.

“We are excited to welcome four new committee members who have been appointed and elected to join us in steering SAIGA towards even greater heights,” says SAIGA CEO Russel Morena, of the Council members who will hold office for three years.

“A special thanks goes to the outgoing SAIGA council members, who have served their three-year term with distinction and dedication. Their work has been incredibly remarkable and is deeply recognised and appreciated.”

 The Institute looks forward to the fresh perspectives and insights that the new council members will bring with a significant contribution to the revision strategy and operational plan 2021-25 to strengthen internal capacity and deliver on Vision 2030.

Matanda has thanked the members for her re-election at the 36th SAIGA AGM and is looking forward to another term as a council member. 

“As a re-elected council member, I’m looking forward to finalising the revision strategy and operational plan that the Institute embarked on in 2021. I’m excited to be back in council,” says Matanda.
