National president of Abasa Linda Maqoma will join a list of esteemed public speakers, accountants, auditors and thought leaders at the Southern African Institute of Government Auditors (SAIGA) conference.
Maqoma, the founder and chief executive of Nomatshawe Group, will participate in lively discussions and a variety of panel discussions on accounting and auditing issues at the Institute’s 2nd annual conference, which is set to get underway at the Fire & Ice Protea Menlyn in Pretoria on 14–15 September 2022.
Maqoma, who was born in Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape, possesses a BCom Accounting degree and a postgraduate accounting diploma from the University of Fort Hare. She has 11 years of experience in the auditing field, working in both the public and private sectors.
She is a member of the Black Business Council, National Council and Women’s Alliance, Black Management Forum, and the steering committee for the Black Business Women’s Alliance. She is also the deputy chairperson of the South African Institute of Government Auditors (SAIGA) Africa & Global Committee.
Maqoma, has a natural enthusiasm for business, people, and development, is an independent non-executive director of the Young African Entrepreneurs Institute, and offers advice on the financial and fundraising portfolio.
She is a candidate fellow of the 4th Class for the Young African Leadership Initiative – South Africa (YALI), a division of the Aspen Global Leadership Network fellowship.
She has worked as a success coach at SAPRO and a financial services audit manager for KPMG and will be at home among distinguished guests, thought leaders and professionals in the accounting and auditing space.
