B’DAY GIRL ENJOYS JET-SETTING LIFESTYLE
In South Africa, August holds special significance for women. However, it is particularly special for Oketsang Modiselle.
Modiselle, who is an administrator at SAIGA, will be celebrating her birthday on August 27, turning 28.
As she celebrates her special day, the single mother will journey to the serene White River in Mpumalanga to commune with nature.
“I spend most of my time caring for my two-year-old son. But I’ll be celebrating my birthday in the distant province of Mpumalanga this time,” explains Modiselle.
“I’m turning 28 and I already discovered my passion which is being in the training and assessments space. Waking up every day to do something that I love is what I am most grateful for. The re-engineering project that is currently underway is teaching me a lot.
“Oki”, as her Modiselle is referred to by her colleague and friends, says she loves reading novels, listening to music, jogging and “binging on Netflix”.
She continues, “I also adore travelling and exploring new locations with my university friends.”
In 1956, would you have participated in the now-famous women’s march?
Oh, without a doubt, yes!
“Women played a significant role in the country’s war for liberation, and I would have participated in the demonstration against the apartheid pass laws.”
