MEN MAKE THEIR OWN HISTORY
Karl Marx once said, “Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past”.
The Protea Hotel Fire & Ice in Menlyn was a hive of activity as public figures, politicians, and the who’s who in the auditing and accounting professiongathered for the SAIGA 2nd Annual Conference in mid-September.
SAIGA is continuing its drive to have accreditation and recognition of existing learning programmes in universities relevant to the Institute’s designations.
To this end, SAIGA CEO Russel Morena and the Institute’s Education Development and Training manager, Sello Malatsi supported by the Education and Professional Development Committee (CPD) members, Xolisa Dlanga and Spokazi Jojo visited as many as eight institutions of higher learning, including a trip down to Durban and Cape Town.
STUDENTS across various higher learning institutions have expressed great interest in courses offered by SAIGA and Public Sector Accountancy and Audit Academy (PSAAA).
The PSAAA team, led by Portia Morai, embarked on a whirlwind tour of universities, namely the Tshwane University of Technology – Polokwane and Ga-Rankuwa campuses respectively – and the Vaal University of Technology during the month of August.
The SAIGA 2nd Annual Conference gala dinner was a glitzy affair event, graced by members of SAIGA, regional committees, stakeholders and sponsors at the gala dinner at Protea Hotel Fire & Ice Menlyn, Pretoria.
